Hiring a car and road tripping is a great way to see the area as many of the states are relatively small and close together, so you can see a lot without too much travelling. With beautiful coastlines, islands and cities steeped in history, there’s so much to do that the area should be a must-see on your stateside trip. Below we’ve listed out some highlights of road tripping around the North Eastern states of the USA.

Nantucket Island

This stunning island situated 30 miles from Cape Cod is full of beautiful beaches where you relax and soak up the sun. An area that inspires many romantic novels and attracts celebrities including the Kardashians, the area offers an incredible array of beach fun and activities for you to enjoy. Why not try the island’s famous craft beer, or visit the local vineyard to taste some of the local produce whilst you visit?

White Mountains, New Hampshire

If walking and hiking is your thing, then the White Mountains in New Hampshire are a must-see. There are over 800,000 acres of park for you to wander in, including carefully crafted routes meandering through the forest. You can also drive the stunning Kancamagus Highway to take in the views in a more relaxed way.

Boston, Massachusetts

Boston is one of the Northeast’s most famous cities and it’s no surprise with the amount of history and culture on offer. The Museum of Fine Art has an incredible collection for you to peruse, and whilst you’re in the city, be sure to do the Freedom Trail which signposts 16 significant locations giving an insight into the history of the USA. Whilst in Boston, you should definitely try some of the incredible seafood on offer, and take the opportunity to get closer to the waves and head out whale watching.
