Things To Know About The ESTA
Whether you’re visiting family or friends, or heading over on holiday, or even on a business trip, generally you see travelling as a simple process. However, since 9/11, security checks have begun to get tougher when it comes to travelling, and an entry fee was also implemented. Now, an ESTA visa is mandatory for everyone travelling to the United States, or even just passing through. While the restrictions are tougher, filling out an ESTA visa form is a simple, online process.
What Is The ESTA?
ESTA stands for Electronic System for Travel Authorisation, and was set up in 2010 as part of the Visa Waiver Program as an added security measure. There are currently 38 countries that are listed under this program that are eligible to apply for a visa waiver in the form of an ESTA, and anyone travelling to the United States needs to apply for one if they are travelling for the purpose of holiday or business.
How To Apply For An ESTA
Applying for an ESTA is a simple, online process and here we can make that process simpler than ever. All you have to do is fill out our online ESTA application form, which features a number of personal details such as your name, DOB, address and more.
How Long Does The ESTA Last For?
A valid ESTA visa is valid for up to 2 years, or until your passport expires – whichever comes first. If you change any legal details about yourself, regarding your name, age, gender or other, then you will need to update your ESTA for it to be valid. If you are still in the US when your passport expires, then you will be fine. It is important to renew your passport before you travel, as you will not be allowed to board the ship or aircraft without a valid ESTA.
